Financial Times: EU pushes Xi Jinping to negotiate with Zelensky

The European Union is “pushing” Chinese leader Xi Jinping to talk with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, according to the Financial Times.
Citing an EU official, the publication writes: “The EU is pushing Xi to negotiate with … Zelensky, as well as with Russian President Vladimir Putin.”
A source told the newspaper that the European Union insists that Beijing cooperate not only with Moscow, but also with Kiev.
On Friday, an adviser to the head of Zelensky’s office, Mikhail Podolyak, said that a telephone conversation between Zelensky and Xi Jinping might not take place. The reason Podolyak called certain difficulties in the organization. Earlier, reports appeared in Ukrainian and Western media that the President of China allegedly promised to call the President of Ukraine after the meeting with Putin.
