Finam has requested unblocking of clients’ assets from Belgium and Luxembourg

Broker Finam has sent single applications to unlock the assets of its clients to the Ministries of Finance of Belgium and Luxembourg, reported press office investment company.
In case of a positive decision, investors will be able to dispose of the securities held in Euroclear and Clearstream depositories. In the documents, Finam indicated all the blocked assets of clients, including FinEX funds.
December 22 Belgium after Luxembourg issued a license to the National Settlement Depository (NSD) to carry out operations with frozen assets.
From February 28, Euroclear stopped conducting standard operations on the accounts of the National Settlement Depository without explanation. In June, the EU imposed sanctions against NRMs, among other things. After that, part of the assets of Russian investors was blocked.
It is known that Alfa-Capital, Veles Capital, BCS applied to the Ministry of Finance of Luxembourg for individual licenses that will allow access to clients’ assets. In addition to these companies, the same requests were sent to the Belgian Ministry of Finance by Alfa Investments and Tinkoff Bank.
