FCS expects record foreign trade surplus in Russia in 2022

By the end of 2022, Russia’s foreign trade surplus will be a record, said Ruslan Davydov, First Deputy Head of the Federal Customs Service (FCS). He did not name the amount, but said that the value of foreign trade turnover overtook the figure for 2021, which was $197.3 billion.
In an interview with RIA Novosti, Mr. Davydov said that the customs authorities are already seeing a decline in energy exports from Russia. “There is a significant decline in exports due to restrictions on oil, oil products, and gas in December,” the deputy head of the Federal Customs Service specified.
As informed The Central Bank, the foreign trade surplus in January-November amounted to $269.8 billion, which is more than 1.8 times more than in the same period last year.

Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak saidthat the reduction in production in early 2023 could be 5-7%.
