FAS will request data from oil companies on the dynamics of fuel prices – Kommersant

The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) will request from oil companies data on the difference in the dynamics of prices for gasoline and diesel in the wholesale and small wholesale segments. In the near future, the FAS will send requests to companies about the need to present the dynamics of price changes from September 2023.
“In December 2023, the wholesale cost of petroleum products decreased significantly. However, as monitoring shows, this is not fully reflected in the small wholesale segment,” the FAS press service reported. The message clarifies that consumers of the small wholesale segment include independent gas stations, industrial enterprises, farmers, transport carriers, and construction companies.
In October 2023, the FAS sent a letter to oil companies and independent gas stations about the need to reduce fuel prices. Then the requirement was explained by the fact that the reduction in prices at gas stations should occur due to a decrease in the price of fuel on the stock exchange. In the same month, it was reported that six cases were opened in five regions on grounds of violation of the law on the protection of competition.
