After several arrests by the police in recent weeks, the American actor claims to have started treatment.

Ezra Miller to star in upcoming superhero movie Warner Bros., The Flashannounced Tuesday August 16 to suffer from mental health problems and to have started treatment after several police arrests. “Having recently gone through a period of intense crisis, I now understand that I suffer from complex mental health problems and have started to undergo treatment,” said the artist in a press release sent to AFP by his representatives.

Ezra Miller, 29, who has already played the Flash character in several big productions like Justice League was charged with burglary in early August in Vermont, and with disturbing the public order after two arrests in Hawaii. These incidents – and allegations of a physical confrontation with a woman in Iceland that did not result in a complaint – have raised questions about the film’s future Flash and, beyond that, to his career.

“I want to apologize to anyone I may have worried and upset by my past behavior,” adds the press release, in which the incarnation of the Flash also claims to want “do the work necessary to return to a healthy, safe and productive period of (one’s) life”. Despite these controversies, Warner Bros. recently confirmed plans to broadcast The Flash, scheduled for next summer. The shooting of the film, whose budget is estimated at 200 million dollars, has already been completed.

Ezra Miller had enjoyed early success with his roles in hit dramas like after school, We Need to Talk About Kevin and Charlie’s world. The artist, who presents himself as non-binary, then played the role of superhero Flash in several films in the DC Comics universe, competitor of Marvelin 2016 and 2017.
