Express: Britain beefs up Atlantic pipeline security ‘because of Russia’

The UK has stepped up security measures on a pipeline in the Atlantic Ocean due to “Russian interest”. The newspaper Express writes about this, citing sources.
This is a pipeline that delivers fuel to Ascension Island, which is part of the British Overseas Territory of Saint Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha.
According to the source, British intelligence agencies received satellite images last month indicating that Russia has a “visible interest” in the pipeline section.
“Whitehall has made the decision to send a security team to ensure fuel is available day and night,” the article notes.
The operation to strengthen security measures was carried out as part of a scheduled maintenance.
Recall that on September 26, sabotage was committed on two Russian gas pipelines, Nord Stream and Nord Stream-2. The Russian Prosecutor General’s Office initiated a case on an act of international terrorism.
