Experts predicted prices for summer holidays: Sochi is like Egypt

And Türkiye remains the most popular destination for the May holidays

Compared to 2022, the sales of tours for the May holidays this year increased by more than 1.5 times. This is due to the fact that in 2023 there are more available destinations for recreation. Such data were given on March 31 at a press conference with the participation of representatives of the tourist industry.

“After the earthquakes in Turkey, sales to this country decreased, but it still ranks first – about 30%,” said Yevgeny Danilovich, managing director of the travel agency group. – Russia is in second place (24%), compared to 2022, this is an increase of 1.5 times. In third place is Egypt (20%), followed by the United Arab Emirates – about 15%. Thailand, Mauritius, Maldives and Abkhazia are already small volumes. And we still see that the “depth” of bookings for the May holidays is growing – now it is about 50-54 days, when, for example, in January, the “depth” was half as much.

Experts suggest that summer holidays in the resorts of Sochi in 2023 will rise in price by an average of 30%. In particular, prices for accommodation in four- and five-star hotels have already increased. For example, a vacation in Sochi for two for ten days will cost the same as a vacation in Turkey or Egypt.
