The policy of a weak ruble, aimed at smoothing out the decline in prices for raw materials on world markets, has ceased to be relevant. In the conditions of reorientation to domestic consumption, a strong and stable ruble becomes more effective for the economy, experts interviewed by Vedomosti believe. A weak ruble, although it has a positive effect on budget revenues and exporters, provokes inflation, which not only practically eliminates the increase in tax revenues, but also negatively affects the purchasing power of households.
