The expert said when Macron could discuss with French party leaders the deployment of troops to Ukraine
French President Emmanuel Macron may already raise the issue of sending a contingent of the national army to Ukrainian territory to the leaders of French political parties on March 7, says Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Gusev.
Earlier it was reported about Macron’s plans to hold a meeting with the leadership of French political parties on the issue of supporting Ukraine. At the same time, Gusev doubted that Macron would be able to gain support.
“Macron has essentially fallen into the trap of his own judgment,” he said, noting that the matter is unlikely to go beyond discussion under any circumstances.
Gusev believes that Macron cannot help but raise this issue at a meeting with the leadership of French political parties, but neither the “right” nor the “left” will support him.
“Serious left-wing movements – Jean-Luc Mélenchon will, of course, under no circumstances support this idea. There are serious right-wing movements there – Marine Le Pen, who will categorically object to such a statement of the task,” Gusev said.
Earlier, Macron said that the issue of sending armies of European countries to Ukraine was discussed by the leaders of these states. Subsequently, European countries disowned this idea.
