Military expert Alexei Leonkov in an interview with “Lentoy.ru” said that electronic warfare (EW) systems are capable of disrupting the exchange of information between an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and its operator. According to the expert, the narrow specialization of various systems allows for a more effective impact on various objects, including satellite systems.
Leonkov explained that the basic principle of electronic warfare consists of two stages. The first, as the expert noted, includes the detection of a complex operating in the radar wave range and determining the frequencies at which it operates, followed by the second stage, which is suppression, that is, a violation of the information exchange functionality with the operator. He clarified that the system can be suppressed in such a way that its functioning is disrupted.
The expert also pointed out that there is a specialization of systems for various purposes, namely for radio fuses, satellite systems, for high-precision weapons and others. According to Leonkov, specialization allows you to have a more effective impact on various means so that they either become “useless pieces of iron” or are destroyed.
