Exercises with Yars strategic complexes are being held in the Altai Territory

The Strategic Missile Forces (RVSN) are conducting a planned exercise in the Altai Territory, the Defense Ministry said. The Barnaul formation of the Strategic Missile Forces launched autonomous launchers of the Yars mobile ground-based missile system onto combat patrol routes.
Yars is a strategic missile system equipped with a solid-propellant intercontinental ballistic missile. The complex is a modification of the Topol-M missile system.
The Yars crews will march up to 100 km, disperse units with a change of field positions, carry out engineering equipment for positions, as well as organize camouflage and outposts. As clarified in the Russian defense department, all this will make it possible to check the readiness of personnel and military equipment for duty on combat patrol routes.
On the beginning of the command and staff exercises of the Strategic Missile Forces with the Yars complexes, the Russian military reported March 29. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation specified that the exercises were held on the territory of three regions. Then 3 thousand military personnel and 300 pieces of equipment took part in them.
