Kommersant Style talks about products against dry skin and finds out which cosmetic ingredients should be excluded, and which, on the contrary, should be paid attention to.
There is a difference between dry and dehydrated skin – outwardly they look about the same: peeling, dull tone, feeling of tightness. However, experts believe that these are, as they say, two big differences, and before you start choosing a cream, you need to understand what is the reason for such a common skin condition at the end of winter. An important point: dry skin refers to the type of skin (just like oily or combination), and dehydrated skin is a condition. Dry skin lacks lipids, its own sebum, and therefore appears flaky and rough, while dehydrated skin lacks water and is therefore dull and tight.
The founder of the clinic of aesthetic medicine Olga Moroz believes that the skin is primarily affected by internal factors, such as the general condition of the body, the presence of chronic diseases, the lack of vitamins and trace elements (vitamins A, E, C, group B, selenium and zinc). “I can also call a risk factor a long stay in the cold, under ultraviolet radiation, dry air,” she adds and advises restoring the skin not only with creams and biorevitalization procedures, but also taking care of your health – doing regular checkups and taking vitamins.
For everyone who has sensitive and dry skin, regardless of the cause of this condition, it is necessary to exclude cosmetics with alcohols, salicylic and glycolic acids, fragrances and parabens in the composition – all of which can provoke overdrying. Give preference to dense, thick products with ceramides, vitamins A and E in the composition and remember that you should not expect an instant effect – the skin needs time to adapt and adapt to new conditions.
