Kissinger says he expects peace talks on Ukraine by the end of the year

Former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger believes that peace talks on the Ukraine conflict could begin at the end of 2023. He said this in an interview with CBS Sunday Morning.

“Now that China has come up with a peace initiative, everything will fall into place. I think that by the end of the year we will talk about the beginning of the negotiation process,” the politician said.

In his opinion, the conflict is approaching a turning point.

Earlier, he said that prolonging the conflict is fraught with escalation and called for ending it through negotiations.

Kissinger served as US Secretary of State from 1973 to 1977, under Presidents Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford.
