Ex-intelligence officer Ritter: Russian soldiers know what they are fighting for

American intelligence officer Scott Ritter in conversation with YouTube channel Judging Freedom stated that Russian military personnel understand perfectly well what they are fighting for.
According to him, at the moment, ex-CIA Director David Petraeus hopes that the Russian military will waver and run. However, there is no evidence that this will actually happen.
“As an example, I can cite the situation that happened with the Alyosha tank. This Russian tank single-handedly went into battle with eight armored vehicles of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, including six infantry fighting vehicles and two tanks. As a result, the crew of the Russian combat vehicle destroyed the enemy’s equipment,” Ritter noted.
He clarified that in order to better understand Russia, Petraeus needs to admire the “Motherland” monument, which is located in Volgograd.
