Former Austrian Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl, who moved to live in the Ryazan village, said she did not ask for Russian citizenship. She told RIA Novosti about this.
According to Karin, diplomats in Austria offered to deprive her of her citizenship or turn her into a stateless person because of her speeches in Russia. “This is nonsense,” the politician explained.
She explained that such an idea was put forward by the director of the Diplomatic Academy in Vienna, where Kneisl taught for 20 years. The reason was her work at St. Petersburg State University.
The ex-head of the Austrian Foreign Ministry stressed that she has only Austrian citizenship and did not ask for Russian.
