Former Ukrainian Ambassador to Germany Andriy Melnyk in an interview with a newspaper Spiegel admitted that he very often allowed himself scandalous statements under the influence of “bitterness and despair.” His German friends noted that one could not make such harsh statements, but none of them turned their backs on the Ukrainian diplomat.
Journalists reminded Melnik how he called German Chancellor Olaf Scholz a “offended liverwurst” and then apologized for it. They asked if the diplomat regretted these words?
“I regret a lot of what I wrote, but unlike others, I don’t delete my tweets. I formulated most of them spontaneously, based on emotions, not calculations,” Melnik emphasized.
Previously, the Ukrainian segment of the Internet aggressively reacted to the proposal of the American billionaire Elon Musk to recognize Crimea as Russian and conclude a peace treaty. Ex-Ambassador Andrei Melnik, in response to the post of the American, left a swear comment.
