Former Ukrainian Ambassador to Germany Andriy Melnik called the decision of the Berlin authorities to reject the application for an exhibition of broken Russian equipment “a real scandal.”
According to him, the mayor of Berlin, Francis Giffay, needs to cancel this decision. He announced this on social networks.
“This strange decision should be canceled and an exhibition of tanks should be allowed in Berlin. Such steps would mean real solidarity with Ukraine,” Melnyk added.
Earlier, the Tagesspiegel reported that in Berlin, two museum operators wanted to organize an exhibition of broken Russian military equipment. It was to be located in front of the Russian embassy. Later, this application was rejected by the city hall.
Recall that the Ambassador of Ukraine to Germany Melnik, who will soon leave his post and return to Kyiv, requested a meeting with Chancellor Olaf Scholz, expecting to apologize for the insulting comparison of the head of the German government with an “offended sausage”.
