Eurozone inflation rises to 7% in April – Kommersant

Inflation in the eurozone in April rose to 7% year on year, follows from the data of the statistical service of the European Union. In March, it was 6.9%. As noted Eurostatfood, alcohol and tobacco products rose in price most of all in April.
Prices for food and drinks in April showed an increase of 13.6%. In March, this figure was 15.5%. Energy prices rose by 2.5%, while in March they fell by 0.9%. Core inflation, which does not take into account changes in food and energy prices, fell to 5.6%. In March it was 5.7%.
The highest inflation rate in April among the eurozone countries was in Latvia (15%), Slovakia (14%), Lithuania (13.3%) and Estonia (13.2%). The lowest is in Luxembourg (2.7%), Belgium (3.3%), Spain and Cyprus (3.8% each). In Germany, inflation slowed down slightly in April – 7.6%, in March it was 7.8%. In France, the opposite trend is 6.9% versus 6.7%.
