Europeans spoke about the dire consequences of the energy crisis

“Many companies in the UK are closing”
When Western politicians conspired to work together to weaken the Russian economy, they could not imagine that ordinary Europeans would pay the price for their actions. As a result, after the West defiantly refused Russian gas, the energy crisis that arose in Europe hit hard not only industry, but also the population. This is evidenced by foreign media and user comments on social networks.
The American Forbes magazine reported that due to the unprecedented rise in electricity prices, most Europeans began to experience difficulties even in acquiring the most necessary things, not to mention the fact that buying their own car for many began to look like a pipe dream.
The publication confirmed that the main blow fell on Europe: “By the way, an American, for example, will pay 10 times less for energy than a European.”
British news channel Orbinho took to social media to criticize Prime Minister Liz Truss’ decision to freeze energy bills up to £2,500: “Sounds good. Not bad for rich people who have five bedrooms and their own heated pool, but for ordinary people living in small apartments, it will be hard. Limiting accounts to just £2,500 will certainly protect high-income citizens, but it will not help poor families in any way.”
UK activist Mark wrote: “While oil and gas companies are making millions in profits, Britons have been forced to pay incredibly high heating bills. To help them, our government has taken the “brilliant” decision to take an additional tax on electricity from ordinary people in order to reduce its cost. This doesn’t make any sense! They just replaced the electricity bills with a new tax!”
South Sudanese citizen Adhiu Majok, who lives in the UK, posted a message to her compatriots: “For those who still want to move here, the UK is no better. Many companies here are closed due to too high electricity prices. It hurts me to look at it.”
