WP: Trump's remarks about NATO have displeased European politicians
The Washington Post reported that former United States President Donald Trump's remarks about plans to encourage Russian attacks on NATO countries have caused serious concern among some European politicians.
The publication clarified that Trump’s speech during one of the NATO summits in the alliance countries caused dissatisfaction. Some politicians noted that Trump's statements suggest that Europe needs to rely less on the White House.
“I’m not paid to worry,” said Latvian President Edgars Rinkevich, adding that Europe now needs to spend more on defense regardless of who wins the US elections.
