EU publishes ninth package of sanctions against Russia

The European Union has published a new ninth package of sanctions against Russia, should from the official journal of the EU. The document includes 692 pages, which list individuals and businesses that have been sanctioned.

The black list included, in particular, Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova, head of the National Guard Viktor Zolotov, Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova, Minister of Education Sergei Kravtsov, Minister of Science and Education Valery Falkov, Minister of Labor Anton Kotyakov, Minister of Emergency Situations Alexander Kurenkov and Minister of Justice Konstantin Chuichenko .

Among cultural figures and media personalities, the sanctions affected director Nikita Mikhalkov, singer Grigory Leps, blogger Dmitry Puchkov (“Goblin”), general director of the Orthodox Spas TV channel Boris Korchevnikov. In addition, the daughters of the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov, Aishat and Karina, fell under the restrictions.

The EU also imposed sanctions against all the country’s parliamentary parties – the Liberal Democratic Party, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, A Just Russia, United Russia and New People.

The Moscow Credit Bank was also subject to sanctions (ICD), Regional Development Bank and Far East Bank. The ban included the provision of services in the areas of advertising, marketing research, public opinion polls and services for product testing and technical control.

“The council has initiated the process of suspending the broadcasting licenses of four more media outlets: NTV / NTV Mir, Rossiya 1, REN TV and Channel One,” the statement said.

Since the beginning of Russia’s special operation in Ukraine, the EU has already imposed nine packages of sanctions against the Russian Federation. The previous one was adopted on 6 October. In particular, it included limiting the cost of oil. It went into effect on December 5th. The EU countries have agreed on a price ceiling for Russian oil of $60 per barrel.
