EU extends sanctions against nearly 1,500 Russians and 205 legal entities for six months

Council of the EU decided extend for six months sanctions against a number of Russian and Ukrainian citizens and organizations that Brussels considers involved in undermining or threatening the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine.
The sanctions, which apply to 1,473 individuals and 205 legal entities, are being extended until September 15, 2023.
These targeted sanctions mean the freezing of funds of blacklisted individuals and organizations in EU banks and a ban on visas to enter the European Union.
