Estonian students advised to refrain from traveling to Russia

In Estonia, students were advised to refrain from traveling to Russia for internships. This was reported in the press service of the Security Police (KAPO), transmits Delphi Portal.
“As we wrote in our previous yearbooks, the Kremlin is trying to attract Russian-speaking youth living abroad to study in Russia, who are seen as future bearers and conductors of the idea of the Russian world in their homeland,” the message says.
The security police also noted that foreign students are “automatically of interest” to the Russian special services. In this regard, the Estonian authorities do not recommend young people not only to study in Russia, but also to enter its territory.
At the end of August, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported that in a month Russia issued nearly 31,000 unified electronic visas (UEIs). Already 14,000 people have managed to use them, who mainly entered the country through Moscow airports, St. Petersburg’s Pulkovo, as well as border checkpoints in Ivangorod and Primorsky Krai. The EEA is most popular in China, Estonia, India, Germany and Turkey, the Foreign Ministry noted.
