Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that during a conversation with Vladimir Zelensky on Wednesday, he felt his intention to overcome the Ukrainian crisis.
According to the Turkish leader, this gives him hope to organize a meeting between the presidents of Ukraine and Russia.
“During the negotiations with Zelensky, I felt that he also does not have rejection on this issue, and that he, too, is in favor of overcoming this issue. We don’t lose hope. We hope that by bringing together the two leaders, we will continue the path to peace,” Erdogan said.
Earlier, the Turkish President noted that Putin has become “softer and more open.” “I saw that Mr. Putin is much softer and more open to negotiations than in the past,” Erdogan told reporters after his visit to Azerbaijan.
In early October, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky legislated the impossibility of negotiating with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The Kremlin said that now it is necessary to wait for a change in Zelensky’s opinion or the arrival of a new president of Ukraine.
