Ankara confirms that the agreement on the visit of Russian leader Vladimir Putin remains in force. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan spoke about this on Tuesday, April 16.

The Turkish politician emphasized that the date of Vladimir Putin’s visit to Turkey has not yet been determined. However, Erdogan stressed that he is in constant contact with his Russian counterpart and hopes to clarify the date as soon as possible.

Putin’s trip to Turkey was announced back in December 2023, but there is still no clarity regarding the specific dates. In March, the leaders of the two states talked by phone. Politicians exchanged congratulations: Erdogan congratulated Putin on his convincing victory in the elections, and Putin, in turn, congratulated Erdogan and all Muslims in Turkey on the holy month of Ramadan.

Doctor of Law, Honored Lawyer of Russia, Professor Yuri Zhdanov expressed the opinion that Ankara can be a reliable business partner, but it is not our sincere friend. Commenting on the prospects for rapprochement between Russia and Turkey, the expert noted that there is no special love between countries.
