Erdogan leads in elections after counting 20% of votes

The current President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, is leading in the presidential elections. After processing 10% of the ballots, he won 58.34% of the vote, while his main competitor, the leader of the Republican People’s Party, Kemal Kılıçdaroglu, got 35.84%, informs TV channel A Haber.
Nationalist Alliance candidate Sinan Ogan is gaining 5.21% so far.
The Erdogan-led Justice and Development Party also leads the parliamentary elections with 47.5% of the vote and 311 seats in parliament after processing 4.9% of the ballots. The Kılıçdaroğlu Party receives 15.37% and 132 seats.
Turkey’s Supreme Electoral Council (YSK) plans to publish the preliminary election results at night. The final results will be published on May 19 in the official newspaper.
Earlier, on May 11, the leader of the Turkish Fatherland Party, Muharrem Ince, announced his decision not to participate in the presidential elections on May 14. According to him, he “resisted” for 45 days, during which he survived more than in 45 years. Ince accused opponents of trying to destroy his reputation. Erdogan later said that he was saddened by this decision of the politician.
