Erdogan called weapons supplied by the West to Ukraine scrap metal

Western countries are sending scrap metal, not weapons, to Ukraine, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said at a press conference on Wednesday in Belgrade following talks with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.
“They say they are sending weapons to Ukraine. Whatever scrap metal they have, they send it to Ukraine,” Erdogan said (quote according to TASS).
Erdogan also said earlier that he does not support the provocative course of the West on Ukraine. “Turkey, as it did before, adheres to a balanced policy towards Ukraine and Russia. At the same time, I do not support the provocative course of the West on Ukraine,” the president explained.
After the start of the special operation, Western countries began to provide economic, political and military support to Ukraine. Large-scale sanctions were imposed against Russia, and weapons began to be supplied to Ukraine from the United States and European countries. Russia has previously sent a note of protest to all countries, including the United States, over arms supplies to Ukraine. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that by pumping weapons to Ukraine, Western countries do not allow it to take constructive steps and do not allow it to negotiate with Russia.
