Armenia’s actions in Nagorno-Karabakh are wrong, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said at a press conference following the G20 summit. writes TASS.

“Those steps [Армении]“the steps that are being taken here, especially in Karabakh, are the wrong steps, this cannot be tolerated, and the EU member countries also do not tolerate this,” the president said.

He added that at negotiations with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, which are planned tomorrow, it will be noted that it is impossible to accept elections in the parliament of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR). “Western countries and others that we have met so far do not accept these elections. This is not what will happen, this is not an election that can be accepted,” he clarified.

September 9, NKR national assembly elected President of the Republic Samvel Shahramanyan. Before him, the post of president was held by Arayik Harutyunyan, who headed the republic since 2020 and announced his resignation at the end of August. After this, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry condemned the holding of the elections and called on the international community to give a political assessment of Armenia’s steps. The authorities called the holding of elections a violation of the Constitution of the republic and its laws, as well as the norms and principles of international law.

Since the end of August, Baku and Yerevan have accused each other of shelling in the Karabakh region. Pashinyan, in connection with the concentration of Azerbaijani troops, stated that Baku “demonstrates its intention to start a new military provocation against Nagorno-Karabakh and Armenia.”

How noted Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov, Russia continues “scrupulous, consistent, constructive” work with both Armenia and Azerbaijan.
