Erdogan believes in a “just peace” between Russia and Ukraine

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is confident that a “just peace” between Ukraine and Russia is possible. He stated this during a speech at a traditional event – a dinner of ambassadors, held at the headquarters of the Justice and Development Party, Anadolu news agency reported.

Erdogan stressed that this is not only about the “Russian-Ukrainian crisis”, but also about other conflicts in the region: in Palestine, Syria, Afghanistan, Libya and Yemen.

The Turkish leader also said that the international community does not show sufficient resolve in resolving the crisis. In his opinion, the reason for this is “an unfair structure responsible for ensuring the global security of institutions.” He also expressed pride in his role as an intermediary between Moscow and Kiev.

Erdogan stressed that Turkey was from the very beginning interested in finding a solution to the crisis between Ukraine and Russia, and not in fomenting a conflict. He also mentioned that he spoke with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin almost immediately after the conflict began. Erdogan expressed hope for a worthy solution to the crisis and the region’s way out of a difficult situation.

These statements by Erdogan reflect his desire for a peaceful resolution of conflicts and Turkey’s active role in this process. However, the complex political and geopolitical factors associated with the conflict between Ukraine and Russia make its resolution a complex and multifaceted process that requires the participation of many parties and the efforts of the international community.
