In Turkey, the counting of votes in the presidential elections continues. At the time of writing, 84.3% of the ballots were checked, according to the results of which the current head of state Recep Erdogan occupies the leading position with 50.2% of the vote, followed by opposition leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu with 44%.
Without waiting for the results of the verification of all ballots, a large number of supporters of both candidates took to the streets of Istanbul.
It is worth noting that at the very beginning of the vote count, after checking 3.61% of the ballots, Erdogan occupied the first line with a score of 57.36% of supporters, while Kılıçdaroğlu scored 35.81%.
If the number of votes of both candidates after checking 100% of the ballots is below 50%, then Erdogan and Kılıçdaroglu will face the second round of elections, which will be held on May 28.
