Erdogan admits the possibility of meeting with Putin at the G20 summit

A meeting between Russian and Turkish Presidents Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan could take place on the sidelines of the G20 summit in India in September, if the leaders’ schedules allow. Erdogan himself stated this on the plane upon his return from Hungary, answering questions from journalists.

“September will see the G20 meeting in India and the UN General Assembly in the United States. If we find an opportunity in this busy environment, we will meet and talk with Mr Putin face to face,” he said (quote according to RIA Novosti).

Previously Erdogan counted for a meeting with Putin in August. According to A Haber, the leaders could hold talks in late August or early September. TV channel claimsthat if Putin’s visit to Turkey does not take place, then “Erdogan’s trip” is not ruled out.
