As a result of the shelling of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant (ZNPP) by the armed forces of Ukraine (APU), one of the shells hit the power unit, Alexander Volga, head of the military-civilian administration (MAC) of Energodar, told TASS. According to him, there is no increase in the radiation background in the area of ​​the station.

He added that it is impossible to destroy the structure of the security system of power units with one hit, but shelling occurs, and “some decisions need to be made.”

This week also, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Ukrainian military tried to seize the power plant, however, Russian aircraft attacked the landing force, destroying 20 boats and boats.

On September 1, an IAEA mission arrived at the territory of the Zaporozhye NPP. The experts inspected the territory of the station, accompanied by representatives of the Russian “Rosatom” and employees of the station. The specialists were also shown parts of the facility that had suffered from shelling by the Ukrainian military. It is expected that two mission specialists will remain at the Zaporozhye NPP on a permanent basis. The IAEA will present a report on the ZNPP visit to the organization’s board of governors early next week.
