In Orenburg, the district court granted the investigation’s request to arrest the art director and administrator of the LGBT bar, writes “Lenta.ru” (The Supreme Court recognized the “LGBT movement” as an extremist organization and banned its activities on the territory of the Russian Federation).
Those arrested will remain in pre-trial detention until May 18.
TASS previously reported that this bar hosted performances by artists who investigators considered to be promoting non-traditional sexual relationships. The initiation of a criminal case was recently announced by the daughter of former deputy and senator Elena Mizulina, Ekaterina, who had previously repeatedly demanded that Russian artists and public figures be checked for compliance with current legislation.
