Elon Musk called an article in the Financial Times about disruptions and the scale of spending on providing Internet communications by his satellites in Ukraine a bad reporter’s job. The businessman said that journalists erroneously wrote that the services of his company were fully paid for by the Ukrainian side. According to Musk, only a fraction of the $80 million already spent has actually been paid.
At the same time, the billionaire refused to comment directly on information about failures in the Internet connection. “Information about what is happening on the battlefield is classified,” Musk emphasized.
Earlier, the Financial Times published an article about the outage of Starlink. The publication referred to a high-ranking official of the government of Ukraine. According to him, the failure led to “catastrophic” loss of communication in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and caused panic among the Ukrainian military. Problems with the operation of devices were observed in the border areas with the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.
