Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk is recognized as the most overrated CEO in the United States. According to the results of a survey conducted by the magazine Fortune Among thousands of top managers of American companies and analysts, Mr. Musk received 399 votes. Disney CEO Bob Iger, who is in second place in the ranking, was beaten by Elon Musk by 97 votes. Mr. Musk was recognized as the most overrated CEO in the United States for the second year in a row.

Among the reasons why business representatives criticize Mr. Musk are mismanagement of Twitter, which led to a massive departure of advertisers from the social network; attempts to colonize Mars, which have already been postponed several times and which top managers of other companies consider more an obsession than real plans; and similar statements about Tesla’s self-driving cars, which should appear by 2026, according to Mr. Musk, while experts say these cars will become commonplace in a few decades at best.

For the eighth time in a row, Fortune respondents have named Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella as the most underrated CEO. Over the past year, he can count his investments in OpenAI, the resolution of chaos in the same OpenAI after the dismissal of Sam Altman, and the closing of the deal to buy Activision Blizzard, despite initial opposition from European and American regulators.
