Elements of a downed drone were found on the territory of Istra, Moscow Region, said Tatyana Vitusheva, head of the Istra urban district.
“Elements of the downed UAV were found, including parts of its starting engine. <...> The device most likely had a short range. Therefore, for this purpose, UAV booster engines were used, parts of which were found this morning,” wrote she is on her Telegram channel.
It is specified that the wreckage was found on one of the private land plots near Novorizhskoye Highway. When the UAV elements fell, they caused minor damage to the fence of a private house; there were no casualties.
On the night of September 17, the Moscow region was attacked twice by drones – in the Istra district and Ramenskoye. The drones were successfully shot down by air defense forces, however, against the backdrop of attacks at Moscow airports in the morning, according to “Yandex.Schedules,” 28 flights were delayed.
August 21, Governor Andrei Vorobyov reportedthat after the fall of the drone in the Istra region, two people were injured. According to Vorobyov, as a result of the incident, windows were broken in three houses. On that day, two drones were shot down in the Moscow region: one in the Odintsovo district, the second in Istra.
Vitusheva called on residents on August 26, when a drone was shot down again in Istra, not to discuss or publish footage of the operation of air defense systems.
