Egyptian authorities believe that the parties to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict will be able to reach an agreement to extend the truce for the release of hostages held by Hamas in the Gaza Strip. This was reported by the Egyptian TV channel Al Qahera News.
The channel said in a statement that Cairo “has received positive signals from all parties to extend the truce period.”
It is noted that Egyptian authorities are negotiating to extend the ceasefire for a few more days in order to free more Israeli hostages. According to Al-Arabiya, in addition to Egypt, Qatar is involved in the negotiations.
