Egypt will not allow regional problems to be resolved at its own expense and will not accept refugees from the Gaza Strip. This was stated by Egyptian Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouly at a meeting with the elders of North Sinai in El Arish.

“Egypt will never allow him to impose anything, and we will not allow the regional issue to be resolved at our expense,” Madbouly emphasized (quote according to Interfax).

Associated Press writesthat Israel had prepared a wartime proposal to transfer 2.3 million people from the Gaza Strip to Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula, prompting condemnation from Palestinians and heightening tensions with Cairo.

On October 21, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi announced the inadmissibility of the resettlement of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to the Sinai Peninsula. He also called for international protection for the “Palestinian people and innocent civilians” in the Gaza Strip, the TV channel reports.
