Egypt announced the creation of a “sustainable” corridor to deliver aid to Gaza

“The presidents agreed on the sustainable delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip through the Rafah crossing,” the statement said.
The office noted that Biden expressed appreciation and gratitude to the Egyptian authorities for their efforts to achieve peace and stability in the region. The opening date of the corridor has not been specified. The Times of Israel assertsthat “hundreds of trucks with humanitarian aid” are waiting at the entrance to the enclave.
The day before, the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reportedthat Israel agrees to allow the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza from Egypt. Food, water and medicine will be delivered to the southern part of the sector for the civilian population. At the same time, Israel emphasized that it would not allow humanitarian aid to be delivered through its territory while Hamas militants continue to hold hostages.
Israel made this decision “in light of President Biden’s demands,” the office clarified. On October 18, Biden visited Israel and announced US support. The American leader also promised allocate $100 million for humanitarian assistance to 1 million Palestinians forced to flee their homes.
