In an interview with Tagesspiegel, Minister for EU Affairs and the Constitution under the Chancellery of Austria, Karoline Edtstadler, said that if Russian President Vladimir Putin enters the country, he will be arrested on an order from the International Criminal Court. Edtstadler stressed that Austria will strictly comply with its international obligations under criminal law.

In addition, the minister noted that Austria is not politically neutral, it fully supports the people of Ukraine in humanitarian and economic terms. However, Austria does not supply weapons to the region.

“We will comply with our obligations under international and criminal law. If he (Putin) sets foot on Austrian territory, he must be arrested,” the minister stressed.
