The Ecuadorian authorities are preparing to transfer six Osa-AKM MAPO 9M33 anti-aircraft missile systems to the US military. According to Infodefensa.com, in the future these complexes will be sent to Ukraine.
To replace these outdated Soviet systems, the Ecuadorian army plans to receive American air defense systems, but it is not specified which ones. In addition, agreements were reached on the training of the Ecuadorian military, the supply of components and ongoing technical support.
The state of the air defense missile system data is still unknown.
In total, the Ecuadorian army is armed with 12 9K33 Osa-AKM complexes, which were previously acquired by this country from Ukraine.
