The Russian Ambassador confirmed Ecuador’s refusal to supply military equipment via the United States to Ukraine
Ecuador is ready to stop supplying old Russian military equipment to the United States. Russian Ambassador to this country Vladimir Sprinchan spoke about this.
He reported on Friday’s meeting with Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa. According to the diplomat, the current state of bilateral relations was discussed. In particular, special attention was paid to some complications that have emerged in recent days between the two countries.
As Sprinchan said, Noboa confirmed Ecuador’s position to help resolve conflicts through peaceful means and its reluctance to send equipment and ammunition to hot spots. At the same time, the ambassador added that the Ecuadorian authorities could officially announce the refusal of supplies to the United States early next week.
Earlier, the President of Ecuador announced plans to transfer old Russian and Ukrainian military equipment to the United States in exchange for new American weapons worth $200 million. This, as expected, caused sharp criticism from Russia. The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, described this decision as reckless, made under serious pressure from interested parties.
