A significant share of the Russian budget in 2024 will be made up of expenditures in the social sphere, and social payments will become an incentive for the growth of domestic demand. About it told “Vedomosti” Deputy Director of the Institute “Development Center” of the Higher School of Economics Valery Mironov.
“Increasing wages at defense enterprises and payments to military personnel has led to an increase in income. This stimulates economic growth,” Mironov noted.
Among the key areas of spending in the Russian budget for 2024, the expert named support for the pharmaceutical and food industries, as well as spending on digital industrialization and military needs.
On September 8, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, at a government meeting on the draft budget for 2024, announced the country’s GDP growth of more than 2% from January to July. The economic growth that began in the third quarter was consolidated, he noted.
The preparation of Russia’s draft budget for 2024 has almost been completed. The priority will be to fulfill all social obligations to citizens in full, the prime minister added.
