Early Beatles bassist Chas Newby dies

Musician Chas Newby, who played in The Beatles at several concerts, has died at the age of 82, reports www.nme.com.
The cause of death is not named.
The Beatles’ first bassist was Stuart Sutcliffe (Paul McCartney played other instruments at the time), and Newby was chosen as a temporary bass player to replace him at the suggestion of Pete Best, who was the drummer. Having earned music to enter college, Newby left the group, which, as he later said, he never regretted. He became a high school math teacher and occasionally played with other bands.
