Russian President Vladimir Putin, during negotiations with Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in Moscow, noted the growth in trade turnover between the countries and the high level of allied relations, reported Kremlin press service.

Putin thanked Mirziyoyev for his personal participation in the development of Russian-Uzbek relations, which shows good dynamics. In 2022, the growth in trade turnover between Russia and Uzbekistan amounted to 26%, and in the first half of 2023 – 14.4%. “Russia confidently occupies first place in Uzbekistan’s trade turnover with foreign countries. 3,000 companies with Russian participation operate in Uzbekistan, 700 Uzbek companies operate in Russia,” the president added.

Putin also invited Mirziyoyev to share his impressions of his visit to Kazan, where he had been the day before on a business trip. The head of state noted the development of interaction between countries at the interregional level.

Mirziyoyev is on an official visit to Russia from October 5 to 7. Earlier on October 6, the President of Uzbekistan Meets with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. The head of the Russian government noted that this is the first visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Russia after his election. Mishustin noted that the mutual trade and economic turnover of the countries exceeded 612 billion rubles.
