Drones attacked US military bases in Syria

Two American military bases in Syria were attacked by drones, and militants belonging to the Islamic Resistance movement claimed responsibility for it. About it reported Al Mayadeen TV channel.

Two bases were attacked – in the area of ​​the El-Omar oil field in eastern Syria and in Al-Shaddadi in the south of Hasakah province.

John Kirby, strategic communications coordinator at the White House National Security Council, said the number of such attacks has increased over the past week, but the United States will not allow its interests in the region to “go unchallenged.”

The White House also noted that “in some cases” Iran actively facilitated drone attacks on US bases in Syria. “We know that Iran is closely monitoring these events, and in some cases is actively facilitating these attacks and inciting others who may want to exploit the conflict for their own benefit or for the benefit of Iran,” Kirby said (cit. according to Reuters).

According to the agency, the number of attacks on US military bases has increased since the Palestinian group Hamas began fighting against Israel on October 7. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) responded by launching Operation Iron Swords, striking hundreds of Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip. The Israeli government announced that the country had entered a state of war. In this regard, the United States sent two naval aircraft carriers, other ships and about 2,000 marines to the Middle East.

The previous time an attack on US military bases was reported on the afternoon of October 23. Then Al Mayadeen TV channel, citing sources reportedthat military bases in the border town of al-Tanf were attacked. After this, a Pentagon spokesman confirmed the information about the attack. According to him, no one was injured as a result.
