The leadership of the Dozhd TV channel (recognized as a foreign agent in the Russian Federation) is going to appeal against the decision of the Latvian authorities to annul the broadcasting license, local media reported.
Earlier, the head of the Latvian National Electronic Media Council, Ivars Abolins, said that the country’s authorities did not intend to revise their position on the TV channel, as Dozhd had committed a serious violation of the law.
In December, the TV channel was fined for what its host said was pro-Russian, citing a threat to national security and public order.
