The Russian company F+ tech (the parent company of the F+ tech-Marvel group) has announced the release of a smartphone and a tablet. They will work on the domestic Aurora operating system from Rostelecom, https://www.kommersant.ru/doc/5939143 Kommersant with reference to the company.
The R570 smartphone and Life Tab Plus tablet are planned to be produced at contract facilities in Kaliningrad, where the OS is planned to be installed. The devices will be supplied with pre-installed Kaspersky Lab antivirus and MyOffice office suite.
The devices are aimed at government agencies and domestic corporations. The company plans to declare the devices as a software and hardware complex and enter the Ministry of Digital Registry to receive benefits. F+ tech will be exempt from income tax, insurance premiums will be reduced to 7.6%, and products will be sold without VAT.
F + R570 will receive a 5.7-inch screen, 64 GB of permanent memory and Aurora 4.0. The phone can withstand immersion in water up to 1.5 meters and a fall from a height of 1.5 meters.
The F + Lite Tab Plus tablet will receive a 10.1-inch display and 32/64 GB of internal memory. There is support for a SIM card.
A Kommersant source in the electronics market said that the Open Mobile System, which is developing Aurora, will be able to adapt the OS to only a few devices a year. This is due to the fact that with any hardware changes, improvements are needed precisely from the side of the Aurora developers. Porting the Aurora OS usually took about six months, the expert specified.
F+ tech is not the first company to manufacture devices at Aurora. The domestic AYYA T1 is presented on the market (smartphones manufactured by Smartecosystem, included in the perimeter of Rostec), but in a year and a half, according to Vedomosti sources, sales did not reach a thousand copies.
