Dmitry Medvedev called on United Russia members to work on the development of the country

The United Russia (UR) program commission on Thursday discussed the implementation of the President’s message to the Federal Assembly. Party Chairman Dmitry Medvedev called on United Russia members to work quickly as a team to implement the ideas of the head of state, and at the same time emotionally talked about the eradication of such “shame” as street toilets and unqualified medical staff in schools.

In his opening remarks, Dmitry Medvedev reminded his comrades-in-arms that United Russia, as “the party supporting the president,” has a special responsibility in implementing the message, which “determines the development of the country for years to come.” Therefore, the results of the teamwork of United Russia members “need to be sent to the government as soon as possible” and reflected in the “people’s program” of United Russia. And her faction in the State Duma is faced with the task of quickly developing and adopting bills aimed at implementing the message, the party leader emphasized.

Then the party project coordinators reported. Chairman of the Duma Committee on Education Olga Kazakova, who is responsible in United Russia for the part of the program related to education, said that the overhaul of schools is becoming widespread and by 2030 all educational institutions that need it must be repaired. And for greater efficiency, according to Ms. Kazakova, it is necessary to assign a deputy or senator to each object, who would exercise party control.

“Do we have schools with toilets in the yard?” — Dmitry Medvedev asked point blank. “Unfortunately, there are in rural areas,” the deputy admitted. “It’s bad,” sighed the chairman of United Russia. “We tried to eliminate this legacy that remains from the past. I myself had several cases when I came to different places, both in the north and in the south… And all this at once spoils the mood!..” Later he returned to this topic again, noting that “this shame must be completely destroyed.”

Coordinator of the project “My Career with United Russia”, deputy head of the United Russia faction in the State Duma, Andrei Isaev, said that the party will assign a mentor to each participant in a special military operation (SVO) who turns to it for help in finding employment. And the coordinator of the “Strong Family” direction, Senator Olga Zabralova, recalled that the president in his message paid great attention to the problems of demography and family policy. In this regard, the party plans to address issues of expanding the network of antenatal clinics, modernizing perinatal centers, children’s clinics and hospitals. According to Ms. Zabralova, over five years, 8 thousand medical rooms in schools will undergo renovation, and the standards of their equipment will be revised. “I remembered how in my school years an aunty nurse would interrupt the lesson with a strong-willed hand, and everyone would line up for the manta. This is not what is needed in school. There must be normal specialists,” Mr. Medvedev shared his personal experience.

Secretary of the General Council of United Russia, First Vice Speaker of the Federation Council Senator Andrei Turchak said that United Russia began changing its program immediately after the announcement of the message. “It will include all the new measures to support SVO participants, which the president spoke about: a mortgage program, training activities, employment, promotion to leading positions in the economy and public administration,” he promised.

Finally, Dmitry Medvedev warned United Russia members “against complacency”: “You yourself understand that we are going through the most difficult period in our lives. But this does not mean that you need to fight in hysterics. It is important that a significant part of the message was devoted to the everyday needs of people. Despite the war, let’s call a spade a spade, we are discussing issues of the country’s development, and in such parameters that we had no trace of in the pre-war years. This means that we are stronger than ever, we cannot be defeated!” — the United Russia chairman summed up enthusiastically.
