A useful New Year’s gift was prepared for us by Myanmar (ex-Burma), from the first day of winter, opening a direct flight connection with the Russian Federation. From December 1, on the wings of the Myanmar airline, Russians will be able to fly to the former capital of the Burmese Empire, and now the second largest city in the country, Mandalay.

What else is useful for winter vacationers to know so that the hospitality of Myanmar speeds up and reduces the cost of their journey to the ocean.

Direct flights to Myanmar will rise not from the capitals, but from 6 Siberian cities – Novosibirsk, Barnaul, Kemerovo, Irkutsk, Chita and Ulan-Ude. The reason is that a large regional tour operator agreed with the Myanmar carrier, which, due to this budget flight, reduced the cost of its tourist product to the countries of Southeast Asia – not only to Myanmar itself, but also to Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia.

– It turns out that, for example, Muscovites who want to use these flights need to purchase a tour from a Siberian company and get to the city of departure on their own? – I’m interested in a metropolitan travel agency specializing in Southeast Asia.

– The tour operator promised, having taken blocks of places for himself, to put the rest on free sale. And in any case, it is more profitable than now we are forming tours, say, to Vietnam or Malaysia at the docks. Sometimes a flight with all transfers takes a day or even two. The easiest and fastest way to that region is through Bangkok. But it’s also more expensive. And not always faster, as docking can be long. And those who want to save money don’t save energy. If you fly to the same Vietnam through Tashkent or Astana, and then Dubai and Delhi, it will be cheaper. But there will be no rest. Unless you are not for a week or two, but for the whole winter. And to Siberian cities from both capitals 4-5 hours fly at a price of 4700 to 9 thousand rubles.

The Siberian tour operator itself promises that sales of tours at a new price, due to budgetary Myanmar logistics, will begin immediately after the national air carrier of Myanmar, with which the contract has been concluded, will receive slots at Russian airports (allocated time – ed.). According to the parties, the agreement is already in the final stage. Travel time to Myanmar Mandalay is 5-5.5 hours, depending on the Russian airport of departure. The approximate price of tours to Myanmar itself on the basis of a direct flight is from 130 thousand rubles. for a week of rest for two. The unclaimed part of the tickets will go on free sale. Departures from all 6 cities are promised weekly, however, the prices for them have not yet been set. But, according to some internal information, they will cost about 45 thousand rubles round trip.

– Myanmar itself is also an interesting country, there are unusual cities and temples, and the ocean is the same as in neighboring Thailand and Vietnam, which are popular with Russians, – they say in the capital’s travel agency. – Many say, they say, fu, the country is poor, the ruler has astrologers instead of ministers … But, as practice shows, including the same USSR, the poorer the people live, the more honors the guests, so to speak, face. All the best to foreign tourists.

Judging by the chats devoted to travel and wintering in the SE. Asia, tickets to Mandalay in free sale are waiting for independent tourists, because from there it costs a penny to get to neighboring countries.
